The EU Roma Strategy and its implementation at the national level, as well as the recommendations of the Independent Commission on Antigypsyism, are among the key political measures to improve the social situation of Roma. Building on the themes of the 2024 Federal Roma Congress, we would like to use this event to engage with political decision-makers and the public to discuss how these strategies and the recommendations developed at the congress can be implemented in concrete terms.

On December 11, the Roma Center, the Grassroots Democratic Left, and Göttingen social law attorney Sven Adam held a well-attended panel discussion on the situation of children living at Groner Landstraße 9. Our shared goal is to improve the situation of the residents and find common ground. The most important outcome of the event was the establishment of a roundtable discussion with civil society participants.

Das Roma Center/ Roma Antidiscrimination Network hatte vom 17. bis 19. Mai zum Bundes Roma Kongress nach Berlin eingeladen. In zeitlicher Nähe zum Roma Resistance Day am 16. Mai trafen sich Roma-Organisationen aus ganz Deutschland, um die aktuelle Lage der Roma-Community in Deutschland zu diskutieren und Veränderungen anzustoßen.
